The Board, Staff and Volunteers of United Cerebral Palsy of Middle Tennessee serve the people of Tennessee with programs targeted to advance the independence and full citizenship of people with disabilities.
Our vision is a fully inclusive community, where people with disabilities have access and opportunity to achieve their fullest potential; a community where all persons realize the promise of integration, self-direction, and quality of life choices. We have dedicated resources to the state’s unserved populations; including persons with severe disabilities who are not served by the state’s developmental disability services system.
Our consumers have a wide variety of physical disabilities–at present, approximately 30% of UCP consumers have cerebral palsy, and 70% have disabilities other than cerebral palsy, including such conditions as autism, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis (MS), disability resulting from head and spinal cord injury, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), amputations, strokes, and heart attacks, and many lesser known physical disabilities.
